DESCRIPTION:“Guru Purnima Celebration” In-Person and Via Zoom\nMonday: July 3\, 2023\nTonight we will be meeting in The Hall of Tradition performing the water/flower puja\, due to the weather forecast for today.\nGuru Purnima Program on July 3\, 2023\n5:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. CDT\n\nGlobal Full Moon Meditation\n9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. CDT\n\nGuru Purnima 2023 Celebration Schedule\n\n5:45-6:45 p.m. – A water/ flower puja/havan will be indoors\, with Chris Young and Emilio Bettaglio. The fire ceremony has been cancelled because of the extreme heat forecast for Monday. (Bring your bundle of twigs to be saved at TMC for a future fire ceremony\, possibly the the next full moon in August)\n\n6:45-8:15 p.m. – Vegetarian main meal prepared by Amrit Kaurz\nand socializing with the TMC community.\n\nBring an appetizer or dessert to share if you would like\,\nthe vegetarian main meal will be provided.\n\n8:15-9:00 p.m. – Guru Purnima Program with Master of Ceremonies\, Rodney Huff (Rajni.) There will be readings\, stories\, and sharing about the Guru.\n\n9:00-10:00 p.m. – Full Moon Meditation via Zoom\nwith initial guidance by Swami Ritavan Bharati from SRSG\, Rishikesh\, India\nThe Global Full Moon Meditation is hosted by the Himalayan Yoga & Meditation Center\, HYMC\, \nPalatine Il. All that is needed is a large bowl\, such as a clean salad or mixing bowl\, some water to fill the bowl about two-thirds full\, a candle\, and some flower petals. For those who are interested in participating with their own flower/ water havan at home\, flower petals can be obtained at most flower shops or can be harvested from their own gardens.
