SUMMARY:Register Now!!! - 4-Seminar Series - "Natural Happiness: Living The Tantric Samaya Tradition" with Dr. Phil Nuernberger via Zoom with Phil Nuernberger\, PhD - Presented by: Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Milwaukee\, Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center Palatine\, and The Meditation Center Minneapolis
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Milwaukee; Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center Palatine;\nand The Meditation Center Minneapolis\n“Natural Happiness: Living The Tantric Samaya Tradition” with Dr. Phil Nuernberger\nWhen the mind is completely free of thoughts of pleasure and appetites\, the mind dissolves itself in bliss.\n~His Holiness Sri Swami Rama~\n4 Seminars via Zoom – 2-2.5 hours each\nWednesdays: May 21\, June 18\, July 16\, and August 20\, 2025\n7:00-9:00 p.m. CT\nAll Four Sessions: $108.00\nA Single Session: $30.00\nRegister here for July 16th\nf \nEveryone is welcome to join this seminar. No one need be left out for financial reasons. If you have any questions regarding registration please contact The Meditation Center at phyllis.vargas@themeditationcenter.org. \nUltimately\, we all strive to be happy in one way or another. For the tantric sadakha\, the world\, a manifestation of the Divine Mother\, serves as the means to enlightenment. The Samayan tantric does not make the world disappear\, he or she makes it transparent to reveal the Infinite One\, which is our own true Self. Life is not meant for “no’s”\, but it must be free of materialism\, the attachment to energetic forms\, particularly those of the mind. This is a necessary step in our Samaya tradition. In these next four sessions\, we explore the principles and practices necessary to be free\, to actually live the beautiful song of life that Guru Dev Swami Rama demonstrated with his example and teachings. \nSession 1: Natural Happiness – May 21 \nA spiritual journey is best understood as the uncovering of natural happiness\, or what in our tradition is called ananda. In this session we explore the nature of genuine and natural happiness\, and how to experience this as our true identity. \nSession 2: Mind: Master or Tool? – June 18 \nIn this session we explore the veil between you and the Reality of Sat – Chit- Ananda. Our thoughts and beliefs can be either a power for expansion or a tyranny of contraction. The key lies not only in our understanding the nature of mind\, but also how to effortlessly direct the mind rather than struggle to control it. \nSession 3: The Kama Kala: The Sacred Triangle – July 16 \nIn this session we explore the tantric sacred triangle of power and delight\, the Kama Kala. Knowing how to access and utilize your will\, knowledge \, and action provides the certain path to enlightenment. \nSession: Samaya: The Inner Path – August 20 \nWe each must find our unique path to freedom. Gurudev led us in the inner path (Samaya) where all practices are internal. While the external (Kaula) and middle (Mishra) paths are often the starting point\, eventually we must turn totally inwards. Understanding your unique strengths and weaknesses is essential for success in your inward journey. \n\n	\n\n\nPhil Nuernberger\, Ph.D. is a direct disciple of H.H. Sri Swami Rama and was personally trained by Swamiji since 1970. Dr. Phil is one of the few Americans to receive initiation by Swami Rama into the highest levels of the tantric tradition of the Himalayan Sages. With his Master’s instruction and blessing\, Dr. Phil has been teaching and initiating others in this tradition since 1972. He was instrumental in helping Swamiji build the Himalayan Institute\, and served on its Board of Directors until 1992. \nDr. Nuernberger is author of six books. The most recent are Eternal Self \, Freedom’s Path: The Dancing Soul\, The Warrior Sage: Life as Spirit\, as well as\, Strong and Fearless: The Quest for Personal Power and From Loneliness to Love: A Journey of Spiritual Awakening. \n

SUMMARY:Guru Purnima Observance and Full Moon Celebration In Person and Via Zoom - July 10\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:“Guru Purnima Observance” In-Person and Via Zoom\nThursday: July 10\, 2025\nGuru Purnima Program on July 10\, 2025\n5:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. CT\nGlobal Full Moon Meditation\n9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. CT\nGuru Purnima 2025 Celebration Schedule\nThursday July 10\, 2025 is Guru Purnima\, Guru’s Full Moon. Please join us at The Meditation Center on this auspicious day for a full evening of observance and celebration. \nThere is an open invitation for all initiates\, members\, and students to come meditate at The Meditation Center on Guru Purnima. \nEvening’s Program: \n5:30-6:45 p.m.: Hatha class will not be meeting. \n5:45-6:45 p.m.: (time subject to change) Guru Purnima Havan. Weather permitting\, we’ll do a fire havan in the back yard. You’re invited to bring a small bundle of sticks\, pencil size and dry\, to offer into the fire for the Guru. If not appropriate weather for a fire havan\, we’ll do a flower havan inside and save the bundles of sticks for a subsequent full moon fire havan. In Person Only \nQuoting his master\, Swami Rama wrote in “Living with the Himalayan Masters”… He said: “I will burn these dry sticks so that your past karmas do not affect your future. Now I am giving you a new life. Do not live in the past. Live here and now and start treading the path of light.” \n6:45-8:15 p.m.: Socializing and full buffet meal offered. Bring an appetizer or sweet as an offering to the main meal if you would like to contribute. In Person Only. \n8:00/8:15-9:00 p.m.: Via Zoom and In Person\, showing of a short video of Swami Veda and other swamis speaking at the Guru Purnima gathering in 2012. \n9:00-10:00 p.m.: Global Full Moon Meditation via Zoom. Swami Ritavan will guide the first ½ hour \n\n9:00-10:00 p.m. – Full Moon Meditation via Zoom\nwith initial guidance by Swami Ritavan Bharati from SRSG\, Rishikesh\, India.\n\nThe Global Full Moon Meditation is hosted by the Himalayan Yoga & Meditation Center\, HYMC\, \nPalatine Il. The Zoom link is available here at HYMC’s website.\n\n\nFor more information regarding the global full moon meditation schedule visit HYMC’s website here.\n\n\n\nRead here…H.H.S. Swami Rama’s 1988 Guru Purnima Message.\n\nRead here…Swami Veda Bharati’s 2011 Guru Purnima Blessing\n\n\n\nSome etiquette: The havan kunda\, fire pit\, is the shrine for the fire deity Agni and needs to be approached as such; having freshly cleansed\, with an open heart and mind\, and wearing clean clothes; no shoes close to the havan kunda. All offerings are made with the right hand and with a loving attitude of letting go and from the heart. Once seated for the ceremony\, it’s important to remain there until the conclusion. (Same etiquette also applies to the water/flower puja) \nIt is customary to gather some dry twigs in advance\, about pencil thickness and length to bring to the ceremony\, usually 3 or more dry twigs bound together with a cotton string or thread (if you can’t be there in person\, the twigs may be sent by mail to The Meditation Center). As you walk around to gather these dry twigs\, mindfully think of the most prominent\, burdensome obstacles in your life or practice. These obstacles will be represented by the gathered twigs. Before the start of the ceremony\, kindly hand them to the swami who is present. who will them pass them to the person(s) officiating the ceremony. \n\n“Celebrating Guru Purnima is a joy beyond words\, a deep stillness that echoes a wholeness and holiness. A wholeness that guru provides the answers to our pursuits\, our yearnings and reveals a purpose for life. To live and to love with a heart unconditioned by conflict\, and a mind\, unified beyond division.”\n– Swami Ritavan Bharati-
