SUMMARY:Postponed: "Sage-ing: Leaving a Legacy" with Randall Krause on Saturday: November 20\, 2021 9:30 a.m. - Noon. CST
DESCRIPTION:Postponed until 2022…\n“Sage-ing: Leaving a Legacy” with Randall Krause\nSaturday: November 20\, 2021\n9:30 a.m. – Noon. CST\nCost: $30.00\n\nRegister here\n  \nThis workshop has been postponed until 2022. Stay tuned for the new date… \nPrevious workshops introduced the concept of the Elder-Sage and started participants on the inner-work needed to harvest learnings and wisdom from their life experience. We also looked at how to expand our ability to live more fully as elders by forgiving ourselves and others and by facing our mortality. \nThis 2-1/2 hour workshop will be an opportunity to take the next step toward donning the mantle of the Elder. The world needs what Elders have to offer. We will look at a range of activities Sages engage in\, including leaving a legacy\, storytelling\, carrying traditions\, and mentoring and you will have an opportunity to discover your own way forward.\n\nRandall Krause served as an attorney\, a mediator\, a life coach\, and a yoga teacher. He is a senior mentor and senior teacher in the Himalayan Yoga Meditation Tradition. For many years\, he ran a multi-million dollar business. Now retired from that business and well into his sixties\, Randall is an Intern in the Sage-ing International Certified Sage-ing Leader Training program.

Sri Swami Rama and was personally trained by Swamiji since 1970. Dr. Phil is one of the few Americans to receive initiation by Swami Rama into the highest levels of the tantric tradition of the Himalayan Sages. With his Master’s instruction and blessing\, Dr. Phil has been teaching and initiating others in this tradition since 1972. He was instrumental in helping Swamiji build the Himalayan Institute\, and served on its Board of Directors until 1992. \n\n\nDr. Nuernberger is author of six  books. The most recent are  Eternal Self\, Freedom’s Path: The Dancing Soul\, The Warrior Sage: Life as Spirit\, as well as\, Strong and Fearless: The Quest for Personal Power and From Loneliness to Love: A Journey of Spiritual Awakening\n\nEternal Self provides an insightful look at both the depth and breadth of Tantra Science and its powerful and timely application to modern life. A spiritual science based in experimentation\, replication\, and verification. Tantra science provides the methods and knowledge to live fearlessly and successfully in the world with inner strength and compassion and to experience the Infinite Self that is the foundation of all humanity. Eternal Self explores the full realization of our humanity\, and describes the foundation for a spiritual humanism through specific methods of Tantra science for both transformation and transcendence. This life\, this time\, is the opportunity to become fully human\, free of the ego-self and all its self-created miseries. Tantra science is not a religion\, but a spiritual and experiential science that expands inner awareness\, and awakens us to the inherent strengths\, capabilities\, and bliss that lie within every human being. Discover for yourself the tried and true methods for inner strength\, love\, and joy that is your true inheritance as a complete human being.  (From the back cover)\n\n\nAvailable for purchase on Amazon.

Swami Rama of the Himalayas left his body on November 13\, 1996.  Please join us on Thursday\, November 11\, 2021 for a celebration and memorial of the life and teachings of this great master from The Himalayan Yoga Tradition. H.H.S. Swami Rama was a yogi\, scientist\, researcher\, writer\, and humanitarian. \n“In 1996\, this fully enlightened Master and representative of the ancient lineage of yogis left his body. His memorial today is in the hearts of his disciples and students who carry his work. He is most remembered for his great love for all and the magnetic power of his spirit\, such that as he walked\, one felt pulled to follow behind him. The full impact of his legacy will be realized perhaps in a century.”\n\nOm\nGurave namaḥ.\nParama-gurave namaḥ.\nParameṣhṭhi-gurave namaḥ.\nParamparā-gurubhyo namaḥ.\n\n~ Swami Veda Bharati ~\nfrom Swami Veda’s Blog\nOn the First Maha-Samadhi Anniversary of H.H. Swami Rama\nPublished: 13 November 2015 | Written by Swami Veda Bharati\n\n\nOn the First Maha-Samadhi Anniversary of H.H. Swami Rama\nPhone Address by Swami Veda\nThe Meditation Center\, Minneapolis\, Minnesota USA\nNovember 2\, 1997 \nOM! OM! OM! \nThe days become sacred when a sacred being imparts a special grace or energy to the forces in the universe. All the annual cycles of celebration and commemorations are built around those occasions. In our present day society and thinking\, the human being is no longer a unit in the universe; he views himself as something outside the universe\, trying to control the universe as an outsider. This view is incorrect\, we are part of the universe\, the energy and life that flows through us is the same one through whose rhythms and waves\, all the planets\, stars\, constellations\, breath patterns\, respond. That enlightenment is not an individual event; it is a cosmic or ultra-cosmic event. The coming into body of a sacred being\, an enlightened being\, also is not an individual event. It is not something over which only the immediate physical relatives rejoice; it is something of universal importance. It is a universal event. It is beyond the category of the birth of planets. It is said that when an enlightened being sits for his final enlightenment session all the saints\, past Buddhas\, and enlightened ones attend upon him. And thereafter\, his rhythms are not the rhythms of an individual. Those of us who were fortunate to see the Master walking\, who recall at times walking with him and feeling as though we paced together with the universal force\, with some unseen\, unknown magnet – those of us who experienced that phenomenon will never forget it\, because it was not an individual but the condensation\, the convergence of an unknown number of universal forces passing through that particular space\, time\, matter coordinate that we call an individual. \nI’ve said\, “The days become sacred.” Those of us who have been taught to be in tune\, even to a minor degree\, to be attuned to those rhythms\, to the beat to which a master walks\, find that on those sacred days\, certain special waves touch us. These are not the waves of a physical energy\, but rather something happens within the consciousness. We do not realize that it is all synchronized\, that the events of consciousness are synchronized with the events in the universe. Or rather\, to put it more correctly\, the events in the universe are projections of the events in consciousness… (an excerpt)

The word “kirtan” means singing\, chanting\, and praising the Divine. It is a sacred practice anyone can do; no special training is required. The music does the work for you\, carrying you to a state of tremendous joy and mental clarity…\n\n	\n\n\n…But the most important instrument in kirtan is the voice\,’There is a sacredness in everyone’s voice. It is like hearing your own soul’\, shares Milwaukee-based kirtan wallah Ragani. who leads one of the largest ongoing monthly kirtan events in North America. Your voice comes from within; it is uniquely yours. Unlike an instrument which acts on you\, emanating from the outside in\, the voice acts internally\, emanating from the inside out. When you sing kirtan\, you can literally feel the sound resonating inside you. ‘massaging’ your inner organs with sacred mantras…”\n\n	\n\n\n(Kirtan! Chanting as a Spiritual Path. pages 7 and 9)

SUMMARY:Thursday Satsang via Zoom: “The Divine Mother and The Himalayan Tradition” with Stephen Parker (Stoma) PSYD\, E-RYT-500 - October 14\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:Thursday Satsang via Zoom – October 14\, 2021\n“The Divine Mother and The Himalayan Tradition”\nwith Stephen Parker (Stoma) PSYD\, E-RYT-500\n\n	\n\n\n7:00 p.m.: Meditation with Stephen Parker (Stoma) PsyD\, E-RYT-500\n7:30-8:30 p.m.:  Talk by Stephen (Stoma) Parker PsyD\, E-RYT-500\n8:30 p.m.: Evening Prayers\n\n	\n\n\n\nTo receive the zoom link for this event\, please subscribe to The Meditation Center’s e-newsletter on the home page of this website.\n“My Phantom Lady”\n(an excerpt)\nby H.H.S. Swami Rama\n\n	\n\n\n…”Mystic being from the subtle world\, had I not received Thy love\, I do not know what shape the rest of my life would have taken. Thou revealest to me the melody and the magic of the deeper realms\, with all Thy loving care. Thy soul comes and goes as a messenger in this world from the shore of the ocean of mystery. It is Thee of whom I now and then catch a glimpse in the dewy autumn morning\, in the scented night of spring\, in the innermost recesses of my being. Sometimes I strain skyward to hear Thy eternal whispers.”\n\n	\n\n\nA burning desire lives in my heart\, an earnest longing to realize the Infinite in the finite. An unceasing endeavor to explore the limits of the limitless is a dominant theme of my life. Mere forms and names of the world are amusing but not fulfilling. Satyam\, shivam\, sundaram—peace\, happiness\, and bliss—is the only goal of my life.\n\n	\n\n\n(Love Whispers\, pages 13-14)\n\n	\n\n\n\nDetails to come.\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\nDr. Stephen Parker was initiated in the Himalayan Yoga tradition by Swami Veda Bharati and was given the initiate name Stoma in 1971. Among the first teachers certified by the Himalayan International Teachers’ Association\, H.I.T.A.\, he began teaching hatha yoga in 1974. During that time he also studied Sanskrit with Swami Veda and South Asian languages and culture for his B.A. at the University of Minnesota.\n\n	\n\n\nStoma is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500-hour level of the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500). A member of the International Association of Y.T.\, he serves on the faculties of the Meditation Center in Minneapolis and the Sadhaka Grama ashram in Rishikesh\, India. He is also a senior faculty member of the Himalayan Yoga Tradition Teachers’ Training Program. He has lectured on yoga\, meditation\, yoga psychology\, and spiritual practice in the U.S. and Canada as well as in Caribbean countries\, Holland\, Italy\, Austria\, Hungary\, Lithuania\, South Africa\, Korea\, Hong Kong\, and India. In 2004 he helped originate and teach the first course on yoga in an American medical school at the University of Minnesota Academic Medical Center. In 2007 he received preliminary vows of renunciation from Swami Veda and the Shankaracharya of Karvirapitha.\n\n	\n\n\nStoma has been a licensed psychologist in private practice in St. Paul\, MN since 1985. He also serves as Adjunct Assistant School Professor of Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis\, MN. He teaches on the faculty of the Introductory Workshops of the Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis. In addition to authoring journal articles and book chapters\, Dr. Parker edited volume two of Swami Veda’s definitive scholarly work on the “Yoga-Sutras of Patanjali” and he has been a peer review editor for the “Journal of Men’s Studies\,” the “American Journal of Orthopsychiatry\,” the I”nternational Journal of Yoga T. and Yoga Mimamsa.” He is also the author of “Clearing the Path\, The Yoga Way to a Clear and Pleasant Mind: Yoga\, Neuroscience and Emotion” (2017) published by AHYMSA publishers.\n\n
