“Tea and Teachings” with Swami Radha Bharati

Saturday: September 23, 2017 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, High Tea Time

Save the day! Everyone is welcome to join in the discussion and share in the offerings of refreshment. Swami Radha will continue to speak on the benefits and subtleties of the practices and observances of the “Yamas” from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in our daily lives.

During these past Sunday teas we have had thoughtful discussions regarding the principles of “ahimsa”, non-harming, and “satya”, non-lying, and how we have chosen to practice both “yamas” through our individual decisions and choices from moment to moment and day to day.  In September we will begin contemplating the next observances, “asteya,” or non-stealing, “brahmacharaya” or celibacy, and “aparigraha” or non-indulgence, and their relationships to “ahimsa” and “satya.”

Swami Ma Radha Bharati earned an M.A. in philosophy and commenced doctoral studies in Eastern and Western philosophy with emphasis on views of the self and mind. She has taught philosophy at a number of schools including the University of Hawaii. She received a fellowship from the Humphrey Institute in Public Policy. Swami Ma Radha was initiated by H.H. Sri Swami Rama 33 years ago and has been an active member of The Meditation Center community ever since.
