The “Mandukya Upanishad” tells us to master the states of waking, dream, and sleep to gain access to the fourth state “turiya”. The subject of this weekend’s workshops will be to learn methods of mastery of waking, dream, and sleep.
Friday evening: Jan. 11, 2019, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., “AUM and the Mastery of Transitions”
Mastery of the transitions in sound and vibration during the waking state is one path to achieving steadiness during transitions in consciousness.
Saturday morning: Jan. 12, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – Noon, “Mastering the Waking State – Aṣtānga Yoga”
Key to mastering the waking state is the seamless union of eight limbs (aṣtānga yoga). Come learn some practices of experiencing the various unions of the eight limbs of yoga.
Saturday afternoon: Jan.12, 2019, 1:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m., “Access to Śrī Cakra Through the Practice of Yoga Nidra”
Opening the heart cakra during the practice of yoga nidra can open a path to Shri Cakra. Learn the balancing of energies that helps with this practice.
Sunday morning: Jan. 13, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – Noon, “Lucid Dreaming”
This workshop will focus on some ways to develop consciousness in dream state.
Dale Buegel, M.D. is a Registered Yoga Teacher E-RYT 500 certified with Yoga Alliance. He is on the faculty of the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Society, Palatine, IL, an AHYMSIN affiliated center. Dr. Buegel also teaches yoga workshops at domestic and international locations on a wide variety of topics.
Dr. Buegel’s most recent book is “Practical Samaya Tantra” published in May, 2018 and follows his previous publication “Practical Yoga Sutras.”
Dr. Buegel began teaching yoga in 1974. He is an initiate of H. H. Swami Rama, founder of the Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy. In addition to his yoga training, Dr. Buegel has extensive training in bodywork disciplines and incorporates self applied bodywork and somatics routines into hatha yoga classes. In addition to his training in samaya tantra, he has also been trained in multiple energetic disciplines. He has a particular interest in teaching practitioners to focus on the pranas (prana dharana) during yoga practice.
