HYT-TTP Level One Retreat: July 28 – Aug 10, 2019

For students newly accepted into HYT-TTP, this two-week retreat is an immersion into a unique, integrated approach to self-transformation and teaching.  This is the introductory retreat for the HYT 200-Hour, 500-Hour and the HYT 600-Hour program.

HYT-TTP Level Two Retreat: July 28 – Aug 10, 2019

For students that have completed the HYT-TTP Level One and have been promoted to HYT-TTP 500/600-Hour Level Two, this two-week immersive experience deepens participants’ self-transformation and understanding of the ancient wisdom of the Himalayan tradition.  This is also for HYT-TTP Continuing Studies students that have previously attended a HYT-TTP Level One retreat.

Prana Vidya I Workshop: July 29 – Aug 2, 2019

This week-long workshop, beginning Monday morning and ending Friday afternoon, will explore the theory, practice and teaching of the Prana Vidya style of Hatha Yoga.  Additionally, an in-depth study of the anatomy & physiology of the physical and subtle bodies will be included.  Participants will have an opportunity to practice teach at least three classes based on the HYT introductory courses (Joints & Glands, Hatha Level 1, and Integrated Practice-Level 1) in a small group setting and receive individual feedback from Seniour HYT Faculty and Mentors.  This workshop is recommended for those wishing to finish their HYT-TTP 200-Hour teaching requirements or those wishing to enhance their teaching skills.  It provides Yoga Alliance continuing education units (CEUs) and credits for the Yoga Alliance Registered HYT Teacher Training Programs.  We encourage those currently enrolled in HYT-TTP and those wishing to become HYT-TTP Mentors to attend.  The Ashram Program and Evening Cultural Sessions are included in this event; however, attendance is optional.
Requirements: Participant should be teaching Yoga and Meditation in any tradition.

Prana Vidya II Workshop: Aug 4 – Aug 9, 2019

This week-long retreat, beginning on Sunday evening and ending Friday afternoon, will take the participants on a journey inwards utilizing the ancient wisdom practices of the Himalayan Yoga Tradition.  This experiential workshop will provide an opportunity for Yoga Teachers to deepen their personal practice, be guided to a deeper state, and learn how to support their students from this deeper state.  The program, based on Swami Veda Bharati’s books, “The Song of Silence” and “Daily Schedule of a Sadhaka”, will highlight HYT Level 2 Practices:  Silence, Intermediate Hatha, Surya Namaskar with Bija Mantra Concentration, Intermediate Pranayama (Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, Bhramari, Shitali, Sitkari, 108 Nadi Shodhanam), the 4 Primary Bandhas, Nauli, Shat Kriyas including Kunjar Kriya (upper wash), Subtle Body Practices (31 Point, 61 Point, Om Kriya), Intermediate Meditation, Inner Dialogue, Contemplation Practices (Mahavakya), and Sankalpa Shakti Practices.
A pre-requisite for this retreat is to read “The Song of Silence” and “Daily Schedule of a Sadhaka”.  These can be purchased through The Meditation Center Bookstore.  The Ashram Program and Evening Cultural Sessions are included in this event; however, attendance is optional.
Requirements: Participant should be teaching Yoga or Meditation in any tradition.

Retreat Planning and Registration

The Ashram program, as well as meals and TTP classes will be held at The Meditation Center, 631 University Avenue NE; Minneapolis, MN 55413
 

Lodging

TTP students are responsible for making their own housing arrangements. 

There are plenty of Air BnB rentals, hotels, guesthouses, and local colleges that offer summer housing.  You may want to choose something that is in or near the Meditation Center’s neighborhood which is NE (northeast).  All classes will take place at The Meditation Center or St. Maron’s Church across the street.  These locations are in the NE section of Minneapolis.
We have a very short list of Locals who can house TTP students.  Let us know if this is your preference, although we cannot guarantee a placement.
We will be happy to put you in touch with other students who may want to share accommodations with you.  Please register early and let us know your preference so that we can help you.

Transportation

You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the airport and to classes.  Past students have used taxis, Uber, Lyft, van and shuttle services, and car rental companies.  From the airport there is also Light Rail Service and Public Bus Service.  Please see
If you rent a car you may want to carpool with other students to help defray costs.  We will halp as much as possible to get you between your residence and The Meditation Center.  Students will be asked to pay a $5/day to cover transportation between their housing and The Meditation Center if they do not have a vehicle available.

Meals

Meals will be catered and eaten together at The Meditation Center.  The basic meal will be vegan and gluten free with dairy and gluten choices available.  A fee of $40/day will be charged to cover the cost of three meals a day.  This fee will be due at the time you register for the retreat.
