SUNDAY SATSANG Is Meeting

January 27, 2019

10:00 a.m. – Noon

Each two-hour session features:  Hatha, Relaxation, Meditation, Presentation, Discussion.

We look forward to this Sunday’s Satsang and to being with you, sharing, and discussing the profound teachings of the Himalayan Tradition and being in the special space that The Meditation Center provides.

Jim Nelson, MA, LC, worked for many years as a high school social studies teacher and as family counselor as well as a counselor for troubled youth. He wrote the book, “Running on Empty: Transcending the Economic Culture’s Seduction of Our Youth”, and has taught meditation classes at TMC for over 30 years. He continues to facilitate Silence Retreats in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California. In his book, Jim opened our eyes to what is occurring to American youth and utilizes this Four-Step Analysis to provide sensible, practical ways of guiding children in a positive new direction.
Michael Smith, MA, RYT-E500, taught junior high and elementary school for 35 years and was a professor of Comparative Religion at North Hennepin Community College. He has taught yoga at The Meditation Center for the past 45 years and is a Curriculum Coordinator for Himalayan Yoga Tradition Teacher Training Program. He has helped to transcribe, edit, or illustrate Swami Veda’s “Philosophy of Hatha Yoga” and his “Commentary on the Yoga-Sutras of Patanjali”, Behram Guard’s “Yogasana for Health”, Swami Rama’s “Exercise Without Movement”, “Hatha Yoga Manual One”, etc.
