Meet the Mother:  Yogis and the Goddess

India is the one culture where the Goddess is still honored on a massive scale.  Many of India’s greatest yogis have been devotees of the Divine Mother. In the West we’re taught Goddess worship is the primitive cult of superstitious peoples hoping to ensure fertility. In India however, understanding the Great Mother is an essential step to enlightenment.

Linda Johnsen, author of The Living Goddess: Reclaiming the Tradition of the Mother of the Universe, will share her adventures in India researching this tradition, as well as her experiences with great women saints of India who physically embody the Goddess. Discover what yogis say the Goddess really is, and how her power can galvanize your spiritual life.

Weekend Seminar: “Our Forgotten Spiritual History”

Cost for all three seminar sessions: $55.00

Cost per drop-in session: $20.00

Lost and Found: The Mystical Teachings of Jesus

In 1945, the discovery of ancient Egyptian texts about Jesus revolutionized our understanding of early Christianity.  These highly mystical texts reveal an inner dimension of Christian spirituality only hinted at in the Bible, and raise fascinating new questions such as:

Are Christianity and yoga related?

Who were the Magi and what was their impact on the Christian tradition?

What can the Mandaeans teach about Jesus’ ascension?

Did Jesus study in India?

Linda Johnsen studied Christian origins at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.  In this lecture she’ll share controversial findings that have forced religious historians to rethink their understanding of Jesus and his mission.
