Sunday: September 29, 2019
Beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Suggested Donation: $10 / $15
Let us come together on Sunday, September 29th, to celebrate the beginning of Navratri, the nine-day festival of reverence to the Divine Mother in the form of Goddess Durga.
With our Vedic worship through fire, we will invoke Durga whose attributes include the ability to overcome negative forces and darkness. In her manifestation as Lakshmi she will bestow wealth and as Saraswati she will bring true knowledge, wisdom, and purpose in life.
The main mantra that will be recited during the Havan is Sarva Mangala Mangalye. Here is the full mantra so you can become familiar with it prior to the celebration:
Sarva Mangala Mangalye
Shive Sarvatha Saadhike
Sharanye Tryambake Gauri
Naraayani Namostute
O Parvati, you who makes all desires possible. The most auspicious of the auspicious. My refuge, Gauri, Tryambika. I salute you.
Please meet in the Hall of the Tradition at 7:30 p.m. for a brief meditation and introduction. The Havan ceremony will start promptly at 8:00 p.m.
Feel free to bring a small dish of food to share at the end.
