7:30 p.m. – Talk with Dr. Cameron and Dr. Namdul

Dr. Cameron and Dr. Namdul will lead Tonglen Meditation to let go of our fears and cultivate compassion. Next, they will talk about death and dying in Tibetan medicine and how we can use these teachings to heal our mental poisons and create a good death. Finally, they will encourage discussion about transforming our fears into joyful living and dying. 

Miriam E. Cameron, PhD, MS, MA, RN (Mim) is Lead Faculty, Yoga & Tibetan Medicine Focus Area, and Graduate Faculty, Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing, University of Minnesota. Starting in 2004, Swami Veda Bharati and Swami Ma Radha Bharati helped Dr. Cameron to create and teach two graduate courses about Yoga: CSPH 5317 – “Yoga: Ethics, Spirituality, and Healing,” 2 credits, online, every semester. 
CSPH 5319 – “Yoga & Ayurveda in India,” 4 credits, Winter Break, study at Sadhaka Grama Ashram near Rishikesh in India. 

Tenzin Namdul, PhD, Medical Anthropologist, Tibetan Medicine Doctor (Tenzin) is GraduateFaculty, Bakken Center, and Postdoctoral Researcher, Division of Epidemiology & Community Health, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota. 

For nearly 20 years, Dr. Cameron and Dr. Namdul have collaborated to create resources involving Tibetan Medicine.
These resources include:

CSPH 5315 – “Traditional Tibetan Medicine: Ethics, Spirituality, & Healing,” 8 weeks, online, 2 credits, every semester. 
CSPH 5318 – “Tibetan Medicine, Ayurveda, & Yoga in India,” 4 credits, May Session, study at Men-Tsee-Khang, Tibetan Medical College, Dharamsala in India.
