Please join us and the Minnesota Dances of Universal Peace leaders for a joyous evening of singing and dancing together. The Dances of Universal Peace are sometimes referred to as Sufi Dancing, but the content is universal, drawing on all traditions.
If weather permits, we will gather in the backyard of the Meditation Center. If not, we will gather indoors. Suggested donation: $10.
This is the first of a series of special events featuring spiritual groups from around the Twin Cities. It is part of TMC’s effort to reach out to like-minded groups and to bring community enrichment programs back to the Meditation Center.
“The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, joyous, multi-cultural circle dances that use sacred phrases, chants, music, and movements to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and recognize it in others. A transformative spiritual practice, the Dances are rooted in the celebration of all the world’s wisdom traditions to inspire harmony and peace. All are welcomed into the circle to hold hands in an embodied prayer of Unity.”

“From the inside we are having quick and radical shifts in awareness as an entire group. The Persian poet Rumi speaks of “the Wine of Love”. Jesus speaks of “the Peace that passes understanding.” The Buddha speaks of “the Emptiness”, not as absence but as potentiality. These and more are available, not as poetic ideas but as direct experience. Easy and direct, all dances are taught as for beginners each time. We really work at not having an in-group and an out-group.
We believe that all religions can lead to direct experience of our Divine Source. We do not honor any particular path over another, letting effectiveness determine what is right for each person. What works is what’s right. If you are interested in the adventure of the vast inner life of the Spirit then this is one of the many good ways to begin.”
Everyone is welcome!
