“Ayurveda and Yoga for Mental Health”
with Asavari Manvikar, BAMS
Bachelors of Ayurvedic Medicine Asavari Manvikar is a classically trained Ayurvedic doctor, who has earned her and Surgery (BAMS) degree in 1997, and Master’s in Kayachikitsa (Ayurveda medicine) in 2000 from the University of Pune, India. In 2001, she was awarded with a Gold Medal for her scholarly thesis work by Institute of Indian Medicine. She is a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Ayurveda. She has been practicing Ayurveda for more than 20 years.

Asavari served as a Doctor of Ayurveda Medicine Faculty Member at the BSDT’s Ayurveda College, Wagholi, Pune from 2001 until 2003. She collaborated with her colleagues to conduct research studies about Ayurveda Medicine

Asavari is a founder and lead faculty member at the Minnesota Institute of Ayurveda.

In 2011, she developed and teaches a graduate-level course CSPH 5343 ‘Ayurveda, The Science of Self-Healing’, at the Earl E Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing, University of Minnesota. Through this course she addresses the ethics, principles, and spirituality underlying the most ancient healing system of Ayurveda, and how to integrate it with yoga, for overall wellbeing.

Asavari is a professional member of AAPNA (Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America). She serves as a vice president for the Minnesota Ayurveda Association. 7:30 – 8:30: Inspiring Presentation and discussion (donation appreciated)
8:30 – 9:00: Vegetarian soup (suggested donation $3)
