Thursday Satsang: An Evening with Paul Emerson, Ph.D.
“Stories of Endings from the Monks and Swamis” and
“Commemoration of the Mahasamadhi of H.H.S. Swami Rama of the Himalayas” November 9, 2017
Last week’s All Souls’ Day (Nov 2nd) in the Catholic tradition is set aside to contemplate those whom we have loved who have dropped their bodies and have gone before us, In the northern climates it also corresponds to the change of seasons when death is seemingly all around us. Likewise, in the meditative traditions, the end of life is contemplated as part of the process of freeing the ego from its material encumbrances. In fact, many of Swami Veda’s stories of saints and sages were in fact about the process of death. This talk will involve the retelling of some of those stories during this change of seasons.
H.H.S. Swami Rama of the Himalayas left his body on November 13, 1996. Please join us on Thursday, November 9, 2017 for a celebration and memorial of the life and teachings of this great master from The Himalayan Yoga Tradition. H.H.S. Swami Rama was a yogi, scientist, researcher, writer, and humanitarian.
