It is said that yoga is a journey of the self, through the self, to the Self. If that is true, how could traveling geographically provide any hope of reaching such a lofty goal? How could going outside of oneself play any part in one’s inner spiritual journey?
Through an improbable set of coincidences, Michael Showalter recently found himself in Assisi, Italy during the week of All Saints Day. He was convinced that this would be a pleasant bit of tourism, but not much more.
Surprisingly, this journey was significantly more. It was a pilgrimage!
In this talk and meditation, Michael will share with you the experience of going on an external and internal pilgrimage to a very sacred place: The tomb of St. Francis located deep within the Basilica di San Francesco.
Please join him Thursday evening as he relates this remarkable personal story.
