“The Relationship of Karma, Saṃskāras, and Mind”
Before attempting to modify the karmic pool that is part of us all, it is helpful to understand the relationship of karma, impressions in the mind, and the mind. Practices to change the influence of saṃskāras will be presented.
Saturday morning session: 10 AM to 12 noon
“The Mind as an Instrument of Consciousness”
Swami Rama said that one of the goals of yoga practice is to make mind a tool of consciousness rather than having the mind try to direct consciousness. Free will and other accomplishments on the path of yoga (siddhis) are very much related to this concept.
Saturday afternoon session: 1:15 PM to 3:15 PM
“The Self-Surrender During Yoga Practice”
Practice of the niyama, Iśvara pranidhana (self-surrender), is key to the practice of gāyatrī mantra. The focus of this workshop will be methods of practicing self-surrender During āsana, prāṇāyāma, and mantra japa.
Sunday morning session: 10 AM to 12 noon
“The Influence of Gāyatrī Mantra on Karma”
Gāyatrī mantra is a practice that is adopted by some to modify not only one’s own portion of the karmic pool, but also those of the unborn, those currently in the adventure of life, and those who have experienced the transition called death. This workshop will focus on the practice of gāyatrī for those situations.
