He who lightly promises is sure to keep but little faith; he who is continually thinking things easy is sure to find them difficult. Tao De Ching (63)
The times of transition have always been considered to be particularly auspicious for meditation. These include dawn, dusk and the change of seasons. The year’s end is somewhat more artificial but it has also been a traditional time for reflection. And as we reflect we also are tempted to make resolutions. In yoga resolutions (sankalpas) are often made for both worldly as well as spiritual purposes. In this satsang we’ll discuss something of the psychology of these resolutions as well as how to keep them.
