Certainly the war in the Ukraine and the threat of nuclear annihilation leads one to consider other types of social organization. To this end a variety of Utopian ideas have been proposed over the last several thousand years and some have actually been tried out to varying degrees of success. I’d like to consider some of these ideas and experiences to see if there is any commonality or lessons to be learned particularly from those which didn’t quite work out as planned. If nothing else they make for some interesting stories.
