During fall we traditionally think of the ending of things and in the Christian calendar there are all saints and all souls days to act as a reminder. Esoteric tradition also talks about the “thinning of the veils” when the ‘other world’ is especially close to this one. However, outside of spiritualism there are many such veils–the present and future being an obvious one. Another veil familiar to us is the demarcation between sleep and dream. Dream (swapna) is one of the basic states of consciousness but one we don’t always talk about in yoga. In this talk we’ll endeavor to make the dream veil slightly more transparent.
