Overview of Presentation
All of us want to be happy and avoid suffering. Yet too often we feel battered by adversity. Tibetan medicine, Tibet’s ancient, timely science of healing, teaches that happiness is the purpose of life. Spiritual immunity and resilience empower us to create happiness in the midst of life’s challenges.
Tibetan Medicine at the University of Minnesota
Dr. Cameron and Dr. Namdul will teach a 2-credit, online graduate course, CSPH 5315 – “Traditional Tibetan Medicine: Ethics, Spirituality, & Healing,” Mon., Sept. 20 – Sun., Nov. 21, 2021. The textbook is their new book, Tibetan-Medicine and You: A Path to Wellbeing, Better Health, and Joy, with a Blessing by H.H. the Dalai Lama. Students can read the e-book for FREE. To register, contact: csh-academics@umn.edu
CSPH 5315 is the only prerequisite course for CSPH 5318 – “Tibetan Medicine, Ayurveda, & Yoga in India.” During May Session, students travel to Dharamsala, India, and study at Men-Tsee-Khang, the Tibetan Medical Institute. Dharamsala is in the foothills of the spectacular Himalayas where H.H. the Dalai Lama and a large Tibetan community live. Because of Covid, the course is on hold, but we hope that students can travel to India in May 2022.
